Yogi Government is guilty of exploiting the UP Police for slapping false cases on Samajwadi Party members: Akhilesh Yadav

Exploitation is selfish utilization of anything for profit. It’s a very offensive behavior and punishable in every walks of life.

The far-right Hindutva party, BJP and its hydra-headed units exploited public relations and advertising techniques to promote Narendra Modi ahead of the 2014 Parliamentary elections. Such was the velocity and ferocity of the advertising blitz that lies after lies packaged in eye-popping and heart-rending visuals exploited the emotion of the electorate, most of whom are struggling for bread, butter and shelter in the search of dignified salvation.

The strategy was stratagem and it worked wonders in the exploitation of voters behavior through the manipulation of their opinions.

Headache of CM Yogi over law and order is growing

As a consequence, for the first time in the history of Independent India, a government was engineered into power corridor through advertising blitzkrieg.  Modi was the mascot and his message on the campaign trails was ‘Moon’ to all.

Four years later, the fantasy has fallen flat. People are disillusioned with the boastful rhetoric of Prime Minister just as much as they are bamboozled by the sparkle of his lavish dresses.

In the Hindi heartland of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government has begun to fumble in the mind and heart of people. Its decline is furiously fast-paced in comparison to Modi-led Union government. It’s true people have been patient like hermit with Modi for the past three years and their resentment has reached a crescendo only in the past 9 months post the bad economics-driven Demonetisation.

But in Uttar Pradesh where people has had experience of progressive, good governance under youth icon Akhilesh Yadav, their disillusionment with Yogi in merely four months have begun to turn heads in disbelief from Ballia to Bombay. There is a growing spell of despair in the public.

What’s going wrong with the Monk-turned-Chief Minister Yogi?  Even when he tried his best at the outset to assuage the feeling of people he encountered in course of his official engagement, he has been wondering about the shape and size of challenges cropping up every now and then like mushroom. His visits outside Lucknow have earned him public ridicule over arrogance and pomposity in sharp contrast to publicized media campaign about his seer-like-simplicity and humility.

Without any prior experience in administration, the five-time MP of Gorakhpur couldn’t realize the enormity of challenges ahead.

Small surprise, he is clueless over the spate of troubles on law-and-order, the key area of his party’s campaign against the previous regime of Samajwadi Party.

In the past four months, the entire Uttar Pradesh has become ‘Conflict state.’ Conflict of all colours, from caste-violence (Saharanpur and Raebareilly) to communal violence (Pratapgarh in past week) paints a very inglorious image of Chief Minister Yogi and his government.

Already, students on the campus, majority of them comprising OBCs, SC/STs and Minorities are up in arms. And so are over hundred thousand Shiksha Mitra, Basic teachers and other aspirants who have been cheated by the syrupy slogans of the BJP. Their present and future is lying in the dumps. Not to speak of the farmers’ plight!

But more intolerable cruelty is coming from the exploitation of the Police force by the BJP shenanigans. Yogi’s Police has become a tool in the hands of its political operators. Just as the government was sworn in, a deadly cycle of violence began against the very police personnel itself, intimidating them into servility and subservience to anybody wearing saffron scarf or posing as member of the BJP and its affiliated street-smart outfits.

Samajwadi Party, the principal opposition party, as a result of rapid deterioration in law and order and the unlawful excesses of the BJP government, has raised the chorus of protest. In addition to common people, members of the erstwhile ruling party are facing excesses from the police forces at the behest of the BJP.

Exasperated by the rise in police atrocities over socialist workers across nook and corner of the state, former Chief Minister and national president of Asia’s largest socialist party, Akhilesh Yadav addressed a national press conference in the afternoon of 10 August 2017 at party headquarters in Capital, Lucknow.

A battery of press persons attended the press talk despite a spell of heavy rain.

In a free-wheeling conversation with the press, Socialist star accused the Yogi’s government of exploitation of the police thanas (station) for intimidation of elected local representatives in several districts. Akhilesh is favourite of press persons for his free-flowing style of lucid conversation punctuated with subtle dose of humour, sharp and prickly at times.

He said, “When PM Modi came to campaign for his party, he was quick to blame Samajwadis of managing police thanas in Uttar Pradesh. His allegation was wild and baseless. Today, I want to ask the BJP government who is in control of police stations, which has become hub of maximum exploitation and extortion from the Samajwadi workers as well as common people. The BJP people are misusing police force for all the wrong reasons. They are implicating Samajwadi district Panchayat heads into absolutely false cases and slapping section IPC 302 and 376 for further exploitation and perpetuation of their anti-democratic rule. Everyone is feeling rootless and defenceless having little in the way or rights or protection from exploitation.”

Why BJP is misusing administrative machinery for intimidation of Samajwadi workers and elected representatives? Former CM cited the case of Kallu Yadav, Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh, district Panchayat chairman, in Auraiya who had been under brutal assault from the BJP members. Baseless cases of rape and murder had been slapped against him by the local police to unseat and cripple his authority.

Several Zila Panchayat Sadasya of Samajwadi Party are facing similar brutalities.  Uday Pratap Singh alias Guddu Yadav is one such Zila Panchayat Sadasya of ward no-2, Khandi, Talbehat block of Lalitpur district in Bundelkhand who has fallen prey to the political conspiracy of the BJP. Under duress, complicit local police thana has falsely lodged cases of murder against this young politico.

The discriminatory behavior of police force is uncalled for. In order to drive home the point, Akhilesh has also spoken over phone with the DGP Sulkhan Singh and urged him to act in the interests of preserving the free, fair and unbiased reputation. In next few days, popular socialist leader will be sending a memorandum of protest to the Election Commission as well as Governor Ram Naik.

What a fall for the UP Police! Akhilesh energized the department with advance technology and introduction of Dial 100, which earned him global recognition and brought much-needed relief to the masses. In no time the system is in disarray. Yogi’s government has lost the moral authority to speak about the sacredness and ‘Maryada’ dignity of the proverbial Ram-Rajya and ‘Suraaj’ good governance.

Buoyant with the huge success of ‘Desh Banao Desh Bachao’ rally in Faizabad, Akhilesh minced no words in attacking the BJP government. He smashed the current regime to smithereens over its total failure to provide relief in any sectors.

Sporting his evergreen smiling demeanour, Akhilesh was right in his affirmation that the BJP has no public development agenda. It can only divide people on narrow lines of caste and religion and divert their attention from price rise, unemployment, law and order collapse, health emergency and all through political gimmicks and spreading canards.

Only Samajwadis are capable of leading the society in direction of the equitable human development and greater care of animals and environment. Only Socialists can promote the values of social justice, liberty, fraternity and progress.
